Mary de Rachewiltz inherited the difficult task of caring for the legacy of her father, the American poet Ezra Pound, who passed away in 1972. His writings are tainted by his loyalty to fascism and his anti-Semitic statements. Despite the distance he imposed on her during his life, she continues to harbor boundless admiration for his immense work. These photos were taken at Brunnenburg Castle, where Pound spent part of his life. In 1955, the castle was purchased by Prince Boris de Rachewiltz (a professor and Egyptologist), who in 1946 had married Mary, Pound lived there from 1958 until his death and composed the last six of his 116 Cantos.

"For me nothing. But that the child walk in peace in her basilica. The light there almost solid" - Canto XCIII
