Venice has millions and millions of tourists, while the residents of the historic center are decreasing year by year. One such exception is Lino Lando, a Venetian-born entrepreneur and perpetuator of Mariano Fortuny's legacy, who is trying to save modern palaces from ruin.
I met him during the intense days of restoration of Palazzo Salviati in Dorsoduro and had the pleasure of photographing him through the beautiful interiors designed by Carlo Scarpa when the lower part of the palace was used as an exhibition hall for the Salviati Glassworks.
