2019 - forever ongoing

Memoriale Brion or Tomba Brion is a memorial based in Altivole in the province of Treviso, commissioned by Giuseppe Brion and designed by Carlo Scarpa between 1970 and 1978, the year of Scarpa's death. The photos depict the memorial during different seasons and different years with various stages of it's restoration. This place is especially meaningful to me because it's the last place i visited with my mom before she passed away. I took advantage of my presence there to practice what Scarpa himself called "the grieving machine" to confront my dead family members and my sorrow. In it's liminal space you can find the truest form of peace and silence.
